Welcome to Yerba Buena
This new area, which the Yerba Buena Gardens anchor, runs from Second to Fifth Streets and Market to Harrison Streets. It is strengthened by the Yerba Buena Community Benefit District's efforts (YBCBD[53]). This neighborhood's eastern border is near the Financial District South.
South of Market (a.k.a. SoMa) is densely packed with prominent institutions near Market and Mission streets. The Moscone Center, the city's principal convention facility, is located here at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and Yerba Buena Gardens.
The Museum of the African Diaspora, the Contemporary Jewish Museum, the California Historical Society Museum, the Children's Creativity Museum, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art are all nearby (SFMOMA).
Michelin-starred Luce at the InterContinental hotel; Barcha, a modern take on Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors; and Alexander's Steakhouse, which serves American fare with Japanese influences. At Samovar Tea Lounge, which overlooks Yerba Buena Gardens, it's always tea time. For a more relaxed atmosphere, visit the TableTop Tap House or ThirstyBear Brewing Company.
