San Francisco's "Little Italy" is an Italian enclave originally home to many people from Northern Italy.

Welcome to North Beach

North Beach is San Francisco's northeast known for its eclectic neighborhood and proximity to Chinatown, the Financial District, and Russian Hill. San Francisco's "Little Italy" is an Italian enclave originally home to many people from Northern Italy. There are still many Italian eateries in the neighborhood, but other ethnic groups have moved in recently. San Francisco's primary nightlife district, along with a neighborhood filled with Chinese immigrants, has also become a cultural center for the beatnik subculture and has seen many of its inhabitants moving in.

North Beach has been recognized as one of the "Great Neighborhoods in America" by the American Planning Association (APA).

North Beach Festival's Father's Day weekend street festival, normally on Grant Avenue and Columbus Avenue, is one of San Francisco's largest events. Other street fairs also regard this as one of the nation's oldest.

The Columbus Day Parade, which previously went by the Italian Origin Parade, is the US's longest-running celebration of Italian heritage. The route begins at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. It takes you on a scenic path on Columbus Avenue through San Francisco's historic neighborhoods until you arrive at Washington Square in front of Saint Peter and Paul Church in San Francisco. The anniversary was marked in 2018.
