Ingleside is located in the southwestern portion of San Francisco, near City College. The city's eastern border is formed by Interstate 280 to the east, Lakeview Avenue to the south, Ocean Avenue to the north, and Ashton Avenue to the west. The Ingleside Library is located on Ocean Avenue in Plymouth, and the Balboa Park BART Station is located on Geneva Avenue near I-280 approaching San Jose Avenue. There are three Muni Metro lines and multiple bus lines serving the neighborhood. A full range of retail establishments can be found along Ocean Avenue, which serves as the commercial heart of the neighborhood. A rocky ledge caps the Lakeview and Ashton Mini Park, affording panoramic views of the ocean and all four directions.
San Francisco's Ingleside Terraces area is home to around 750 residences built on the former site of the Ingleside Racetrack, which was situated in the southwestern portion of the city. The City College of San Francisco campus is next to the Ingleside neighborhood, located north of Ocean Avenue, east of Ashton Avenue, south of Holloway Avenue, and west of Junipero Serra Boulevard. The Sundial Park Picnic is the most popular annual event, in which the community hosts equestrian, chariot, and wagon races. Entrada Court is home to a big sundial flanked by two intersecting oval-shaped Urbano Drive, a horse race track in the past.
