Welcome to Dolores Heights

Dolores Heights is a hilly neighborhood named for the neighborhood's titular hill. It is bounded on the north by the Castro, on the east by Dolores Park, on the south by Noe Valley, and on the west by Upper Market. Due to its steepness, the Muni Metro J Church line must pass past Dolores Park and through the Liberty Hill neighborhood before rejoining Church Street in Noe Valley at 22nd Street.

Numerous streets in Dolores Heights are dead-end cul-de-sacs connected by steep staircases that offer breathtaking views. It is a prosperous and peaceful area comprised of Victorians, apartment complexes, and detached residences. Many residents of Dolores Heights have remarked that the neighborhood lacks a visible homeless population due to its higher elevation. Dolores Heights generally remains warm, bright, and fog-free due to Twin Peaks preventing the strong winds and fog present practically year-round in San Francisco.
